Down River is an ok book to read i read it with my class and it was ok at first is kind of boring but then at the end it gets really good and then you cant stop reading it is ok but is kind of boring in the being but then it gets really good. F-U-N. A 8th grade reader from Utah I thought this book was great, I usually hate reading, but I LOVED this book, the way the Author explained it was Amazing, we read it in my 2nd period class, and I used to sit there in 1st, board out of my mind, just waiting to go to 2nd so I can read "Down River". Downriver. This book is about a group of kids who take a survival trip up mountains and white water rafting through the Grand Canyon. Totally awesome. I really liked this book. So, YOU wanna know about Down River eh? I gave this book 3 stars because some of the things the characters did were believable, but some were not. A Fight For Survival (...) This book was generally OK. I read this book and thought it was a good book most of the way through. Dangerous Journey. Hobbs' novels have been recommended for Young Adults. This was a FUN book to read. This is a fiction, first of all, so total reality is impossible (and who wants total reality anyways, if it was totally realistic the whole premise would be shot and there would be no Downriver). Cloyd and Bluebell, his horse, loved each other. As a result, Bluebell saved Cloyd’s life in an accident on the mountain. In doing so, he risked his life and almost died.
The old man and Cloyd loved each other and because of this the old man learned how to understand and help Cloyd. Cloyd saved the old man’s life.
In the friendships, both people (or animals) benefit because friendship is very good.
